We may also obtain information about your estimated income or education to help tailor our services to you. Additionally, we may gather information about property ownership, which can assist us in servicing warranty claims. In some cases, we may share this information for the purpose noted above.

3. Financial information: We may collect specific payment card information and card type, including billing address. For customers who purchase our products on credit, we may gather certain information like your Social Security number to perform a credit check.

4. Equipment information: We collect information from and about your equipment, your usage of that equipment, and your interactions with our services. This may include information about the equipment’s network connection and location, as well as performance and operational data, such as resource consumption and information about equipment errors. We collect information about the equipment itself, including serial numbers, components installed in relation to the equipment, or any installation, update, or maintenance performed on the equipment. We may also gather data about the environment surrounding the equipment, such as occupancy and decibel levels, temperature, and air quality. In some cases, we may share this information for the purpose noted above.

5. Usage information: We collect logs and session data when you use our platforms. This may include approximate location information, browser and operating system details, the site you came from or the site you visit when you leave us. We also examine the areas of our site you visit and any actions you take, including information about any product or service preferences. We collect your IP address and device identifiers, which might include your hardware model. In some cases, we may share this information for the purpose noted above.

6. Submitted information: We collect any other information you voluntarily provide to us. This may include information you submit as part of a warranty claim or service request, or any feedback you may provide about our products or services. This also includes comments on social media sites. In some cases, we may share this information for the purpose noted above.

7. Job applicant and professional information: If you apply for a job, we collect information about your prior education and work history. This includes information about your skills and qualifications for the position. We may ask about your salary expectations and how you learned of the position. We may also inquire about your ability to perform the position.

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information, as defined by California law, for inferring characteristics or for purposes other than those permitted by law. We retain these categories of personal information as long as necessary or relevant for the purposes for which it was collected. We also keep information as required by law.

Business Purposes for Collecting Information:

We also use information to communicate with you about our policies and terms. If you apply for a job, we use information to process your application.

This includes selling, servicing, and repairing equipment, administering equipment warranties, updating and repairing your equipment, and resolving technical issues. For example, inferences may be made from equipment information to automatically adjust your settings, such as temperature adjustments based on your equipment use. We may use information to recognize our customers or store passwords. We may also use information to send you energy usage reports or tips.

We also use information to provide you with newsletters or other content we think you may find interesting. We may do this by phone or email. We may also use your information to engage in interest-based advertising. This includes serving you content on our platforms or social media platforms. This may occur after you leave our sites or platforms and may encourage you to return. We may also serve ads that we think are relevant to you based on your browsing habits or online activities.

4. We use information to protect ourselves and others: We use information to protect our company, which includes identifying fraud or securing our systems. We may also use information to protect our website visitors.

1. We obtain information directly from you when you create an account, contact us, submit a service request, seek technical support, or file a warranty claim. 2. We gather information passively by tracking user activities over time and across different websites and apps. We employ various tracking tools, such as browser cookies and web beacons, and collaborate with third parties that collect personal information similarly. We may also work with other parties to gather information on our platforms and beyond, including on our websites and in emails we send to you. Additionally, we collect information via sensors on our equipment.

3. We collect information about you from external sources, such as business associates, dealers or distributors, referrals, industry associations, credit-rating services, property records, public databases, and data analytics vendors. This may include demographic and geographic data enrichment.

Combining and Disclosing Information:

1. We merge the information collected online with the information obtained offline, as well as across devices and third-party platforms. We also combine the information you provide with the information we receive from other sources.

2. We share information with business associates involved in selling, repairing, and installing services, including dealers, distributors, and service technicians. We also disclose information to vendors performing services on our behalf, such as those who assist with marketing communications, site operations, or service improvements. Vendors involved in processing orders may receive payment information, and those helping with job applicant evaluations may receive applicant and professional information.

 

3. We may share information for cross-contextual behavioral advertising purposes, as outlined in the Notice at Collection. We disclose information when legally required or to protect ourselves, such as in response to court orders, subpoenas, or government agency requests, and during fraud investigations or enforcement of our terms and policies. Additionally, we share information in case of a business sale, merger, acquisition, financing, or bankruptcy.

Our Platforms Are Based in the United States

The sites and platforms where this policy appears is intended for people who are in the United States only. If you live outside of the US, you understand and agree that we may transfer your information to the US and that it will be processed under and subject to US laws. It will also be subject to appropriate safeguards under US law.

How To Exercise Certain Choices:

1. You can opt out of receiving our marketing emails. To stop receiving our promotional emails, follow the “unsubscribe” instructions in any promotional message you get from us. Even if you opt out of getting marketing messages, we will still send you transactional messages. This includes responses to your questions or information about a warranty.
